Mr. Bradley Allen Penicaro, 58, of Kewanna, passed away at 5:52 PM Friday, September 12th, at St. Vincent Hospital of Carmel. On December 19, 1955, Brad was born in Winamac, a treasured son of Frank and Arnabelle Stepp Penicaro. Growing up as one of six children, Brad shared his childhood with two sisters, Tina and Penni, and three brothers, Tim, Dan and Jim. With great warrior pride Brad graduated from Winamac High School with his class in 1975. Brad married his best friend and love of his life, Cathy Ann Reinhold on December 6, 1974 at the Calvary Baptist Church of Winamac. Together they shared 39 1/2 years of life's adventures. From their union came three wonderful children: Gina, David and Steve. Over the years the family tree grew with the added blessings of 8 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. A loyal, devoted and highly touted member of the Winamac INDOT, Brad served as their "top gun" master mechanic. No challenge was too tough as he was a key problem solver, keeping the trucks running. With a big heart, Brad passionately supported the Pleasant View County Home. He financially contributed along with bearing gifts when they expressed needs. To kick back and relax, Brad was a king of the Couch Potatoes, a TV buff he especially loved western movies. Always at his side was his loyal canine companion Maggie, a blonde Pomeranian. With a love for travel Brad and Cathy took their family on many vacations. Their adventures included most of the continental United States. Special destinations they fondly remembered were Biloxi, Florida, South Carolina and Las Vegas. They once traveled by train to Seattle. An accomplished chef, Brad was quite at home from his kitchen command post, each evening preparing the family dinner. He initially tried out many recipes, then next time around created his own culinary adventure dazzling his family and special friends with his creations. He would chat with his sisters and compare recipes each week!!!! Brad specialized in the main event while his sisters preferred creating desserts. As the patriarch of the Penicaro family, Brad was proud to oversee four generations. He especially cherished the time spent with his family, looking forward to the holidays and special family celebrations. Brad is lovingly remembered by his wife Cathy; a daughter Gina Oaf and husband Michael of Royal Center; two sons: David Penicaro and companion Jo Lynn Behny Plowman of Winamac; Steve Penicaro of Ocean Springs, MS; 8 grandchildren: Spencer Penicaro, Alexis Penicaro, Ryan Oaf, Daulton Oaf, Bradley Penicaro, Anthony Penicaro, Michael Richard Oaf, Hunter Moses; a great granddaughter Paisyn Johnson; two sisters: Tina Kasten and husband Mike of Winamac; Penni Hilton and husband Floyd of Yuma, AZ; two brothers: Dan Penicaro and wife Ellen of Greenville, SC; Timothy Penicaro of Rochester; sister-in-law Debra Penicaro of Star City; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Brad in death are his parents, grandparents, a brother James Penicaro, and several aunts and uncles. Interment will be in McKinley Memorial Gardens of Winamac.
