Bradley Allan “Brad” Hermann, also affectionately known as “B.A.,” was born November 8, 1954, in Rochester, Indiana, to Gertrude A. (Greendyke) and Fred R. Hermann. The youngest of eight children, Brad grew up in Rochester surrounded by his large family and graduated proudly from Rochester High School in 1973.

Shortly after graduation, Brad began working for Moore Business Forms, where he remained until 1998. After leaving Moore’s, he turned his natural talent and fascination with electronics and computers into a new career. He began building and repairing computers through his company, Power Management, and later owned and operated The Peru Computer Center in Peru, Indiana. During his years in the computer industry, Brad earned several Microsoft certifications and had the opportunity to perform beta testing for numerous computer manufacturers. Long before computers became a part of everyday life, Brad had an instinctive understanding of technology and was always eager to learn about the newest innovations.

While technology was one of Brad’s talents, radio was one of his great passions. From an early age, Brad dreamed of becoming a radio disc jockey. That dream began to take shape in the early 1980s when he won a contest sponsored by U93 in South Bend, Indiana, giving him the opportunity to serve as a guest DJ alongside radio personality J.K. Dearing. The experience opened numerous doors and allowed Brad to pursue a dream that had once seemed out of reach.

Known to his radio listeners as “B.A.,” Brad went on to host his own radio shows at stations in Logansport, Peru, and his hometown of Rochester. His love of music extended beyond the radio studio. Brad and his dear friend Mike Berry created Slipped Disc D.J. Service, providing the soundtrack for countless weddings, dances, celebrations, and special events throughout north central Indiana during the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s. Through radio and DJing, Brad was able to share his love of music with generations of people throughout the area.

On February 21, 1976, at Macy Christian Church, Brad married the love of his life, Kathleen Kaye Carvey. Together, Brad and Kaye shared 50 years of marriage and a lifetime of adventures, memories, challenges, laughter, and love.

Through their marriage, Brad gained a daughter, Tanya, whom he later adopted and loved completely as his own. Family was always an important part of Brad’s life, but few things brought him greater joy than being a grandfather. The lights of his life were his three grandchildren, Kelsey, Kensey, and Karsyn McKee. Brad was a constant presence in their lives and rarely missed a sporting event, celebration, or important milestone. He took tremendous pride in watching them grow and was always there to support and encourage them.

Brad will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for music and radio, his remarkable knowledge of computers and electronics, and his willingness to follow his interests wherever they led him. Whether he was behind a microphone, selecting the perfect song for an event, working on a computer, or sitting in the stands cheering on one of his grandchildren, Brad brought his own personality and enthusiasm to everything he did.

Brad is survived by his beloved wife, Kaye Hermann of Macy, Indiana; daughter and son-in-law, Tanya and Sean McKee of Rochester, Indiana; and three grandchildren: Kelsey McKee and partner Taylor Thomas of Union Mills, Indiana, Kensey McKee of Rochester, and Karsyn McKee of Rochester. He is also survived by his siblings: Dr. Bruce D. Hermann (Diane) of Port Charlotte, Florida, Marcia L. Behrens of Altoona, Iowa, and Kristine A. Mueller (Larry) of Granger, Indiana; as well as his sister-in-law, Donna Hermann; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred R. and Gertrude A. Hermann; his brothers Robert “Bob” Hermann and Jerald “Jerry” Hermann; his sisters Diane Bathrick and Sandra “Sandy” Carpenter; and his in-laws Lester Dee Carvey and Donna Richter Carvey.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Brad’s life at Good Family Funeral Home in Rochester, Indiana. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton County Cancer Fund through the Northern Indiana Community Foundation.

Brad spent much of his life providing the soundtrack for other people’s special moments. His own life leaves behind a soundtrack filled with family, music, laughter, memories, and love, a soundtrack that will continue to play in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
