Beverly
Hollarman
Mar 28, 1939 — Jan 8, 2018
Mrs. Beverly A. "Bev" Hollarman, 78, of Rochester, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at 2:31 AM, Monday, January 8, 2018 at Dukes Memorial Hospital of Peru. This followed a valiant battle with lung cancer.
On March 28, 1939, Beverly Ann Manning was born in Cass County. She was a treasured daughter of Harry and Marjorie Smith Manning. As the eldest of the six Manning children she shared her childhood with three sisters and two brothers.
In April of 1958 Bev and Don Overmyer were married. From their union came two wonderful children, Kandy and Randy. After many years the marriage was dissolved. The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of two more generations.
With a strong work ethic, Bev worked at Moore's Business Forms for more than a decade until it's closing. Many will remember her warm smile and helping heart as an accountant at Hammel Motors and more recently Mike Anderson's. She was a member of the 1st Christian Church, the Eagles, Manitou Moose Family Center and the Topp's Ladies Club. Bev enjoyed the exercise classes at the senior center and volunteered in the office as well.
An avid reader, Bev especially enjoyed romance novels. She looked forward to wintering in Sebring, Florida and camping in her travel trailer. Like clockwork at appointed times, Bev met her lady friends at places like McDonald's to catch up on local chatter while solving the world's problems. At home she annually planted flowers around her home to enhance the landscape with colorful borders.
Left to cherish Bev's memories are a daughter, Kandy Morris and husband Michael of Peru ; a son, Randy Overmyer of Leiters Ford; a trio of grandsons: Aaron Weller and wife Karissa, Brandon Weller, Skyler Overmyer; four great-grandchildren: Richelle, Brooklyn, River and Ava; 3 sisters: Sharon Leicht and husband Art of South Carolina, Joan Robertson and husband Larry, of Galveston, Jan Stroud and husband Charlie; a brother, Terry Manning and wife Amy, all of Young America; and best friend for more than four decades, Marilyn Brown of Rochester. Preceding Beverly in death are her parents Harry and Marjorie Manning, infant grandson Samuel D. Overmyer, and a brother, Ed Manning.
Pastor Mike Van Heyningen will officiate services at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at 12:15 PM at the U. B. Cemetery north of Young America.
