Mrs. Betty L.  Steininger, 82, of Rochester, passed away at 1:59 AM, Tuesday, August 22 , 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center of Fort Wayne.

On July 3 , 1935, Betty Louis Rynearson was born in Fulton County to Ellis and Lucille Towne Rynearson.  As one of the five Rynearson children, growing up she shared her childhood with three brothers and a sister.  She graduated from Richland Center High School in 1954.

Betty and Kenneth L. Steininger were married on July 31 , 1955 at Grandview Church in Richland Township. They have shared 62 years of life's adventures.  From their union came three wonderful children Melody, Debbie and David.  The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of eight grandchildren, 11 great-grands and one great-great-grandchild.

At home in her kitchen command post, Betty created many delicious dishes using bacon.  An extraordinary baker, she baked breads and many types of pies.  She was most notable for her red hot cherry pie.  When the kids were growing up, Betty employed her skills as a seamstress.  Talented with her hands she made some of their clothing.  She enjoyed music and was talented playing the keyboard.

Betty will be lovingly remembered by husband, Ken; daughter, Melody Sweany and husband Ron; a son, Dave Steininger and wife Cindy, all of Rochester; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; three brothers: Paul Rynearson and wife Nancy of Rochester, Frank Rynearson and wife Nancy of Columbus, OH, Larry Rynearson and wife Carol of Kouts; and several nieces and nephews.
