Mrs. Barbara Elaine Grance Swanson, 78, of 5275 E. Brown Rd. Leesburg, passed away Thursday, December 15th, 2011 at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was born in Detroit, MI on September 29, 1933. On June 5, Barbara and Lynden E. Swanson Sr. were married in Toledo, OH. He preceded her in death on July 9, 1974. As a homemaker, Barbara loved to do things for her family. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her free time she enjoyed watching thriller and detective shows on TV. She was also an avid reader. Barbara liked sweets; ice cream and chocolate were her favorite snacks. Barbara will be lovingly remembered by 2 daughters: Barbara Reeves & husband Edwin of Leesburg, and Judy Lowe & husband Loren of Talma; 12 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Carol Swanson, a son Lynden E. Swanson Jr., granddaughters Wendy and Cendy Reeves, and grandson Billy Joe Swanson. A celebration of the life of Barbara E. Swanson will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 19, 2011 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester with Pastor Dan Davidson officiating. Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Athens Hoover Cemetery.
