Arthur Daniel Wise, age 90, passed away on June 27th due to complications from a fall. He was preceded in death by his parents Waldo and Delight Wise, his wife of 56 years JoAnn and his only sister Zora Andrews. Arthur graduated from Upland High School. In January 1943 he was drafted into First and Third Battalion, Regiment 463, 97th Infantry later qualifying as a technician fourth grade. During WWII the 97th Infantry was part of the Pacific tour and was one of the first groups to arrive in Japan during Occupation. He was honorably discharged January 12, 1946. Two weeks after his discharge he married JoAnn Smith on January 26th in Wyndfall, IN. Arthur's professional career spanned 42 years, all in the Dairy Industry. He was employed by Producers Creamery/Kroger located in Marion, IN, Crystal Dairy in Remington and Rochester, IN and finally as Superintendent for Stella Cheese/ Universal Foods of Peru, IN until he retired in June of 1988. Arthur dedicated his life to service of others. He was an active long time member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was on the Board of Trustees, leader of the Senior Membership Club and a 30-year Sunday school teacher. He was also an active member of the Rochester IOOF Lodge 47. Positions held were Chaplain for 2 years, Financial Secretary and Treasurer for 10 years and assistant groundskeeper of the IOOF cemetery. Arthur is survived by his son David and wife Joyce and granddaughter Lauren Wise, his daughter Miriam Duncan, grandson Eric and wife Stacy and great grandchildren Cali, Cruz and Cai Duncan, Grandson Henry and great grandsons Hezekiah and Austin Duncan. Also surviving are step daughters Connie Duncan, Kathy Gravely, Lisa Metcalf, and their families. Rev. Maurice Grindle will officiate services. Interment will be in the Santa Fe Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Fulton County Honor Guard and the US Army Honor Guard.
