Mr. Arthur Ross Craig, 90, formerly of Akron passed away at 8:15 AM, Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Wynnfield Crossing of Rochester. He was born in Rochester, on June 24, 1921 to Merle & Florence Ross Craig. On January 26, 1947, Arthur married Shirley A. Howard in Rochester. She preceded on September 30, 1997. Art proudly served in the US Army Air Corp during WW II. He was the manager of the Peabody Seating Company of North Manchester. He was very active in the Democratic party. Art served as the Fulton County Surveyor, was a member of the Akron Cemetery Board and was on the Fulton County Housing Board. He was a member of of the Akron Church of God and the Masonic Lodge #79. Art enjoyed yard work and gardening, and was often seen working on the churches' lawn. He liked to travel to different cities to visit family and friends. As a Notre Dame fan, he cheered on the Irish basketball and football teams. He is survived by 3 nieces: Sandra Burch of North Manchester, Ann Kreider of Yardley, PA, and Paula Foellinger of Noblesville; and a nephew, Craig Schaller of Indianapolis. He is also survived by 9 great-nieces and nephews and 13 great-grea-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a sister Maxine Schaller. Pastor Terry Canfield will officiate services. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the LeRoy Shelton American Legion #36 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars #1343. He will be laid to rest in the Akron Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester.
