Obituary

Mrs. Ardith L. Adams, 78 , of Rochester, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at 12:17 PM on Wednesday, September 28 , 2016 at Center For Hospice Care of South Bend.

On June 28 , 1938, Ardith was born in Muskegon, MI.  She was a cherished daughter of  Fay J. and Mildred Elizabeth Grossenbacher Bathrick.  In 1948, when she was ten years old her family moved to Rochester.  Ardith grew up as the third child and eldest daughter of the Bathrick children. She shared her childhood with five sisters and three brothers.  With great pride she graduated from Rochester High School with the class of 1956.

In Rochester, on May 12 , 1957, Ardith married the love of her life,  Mr. William A. "Bill" Adams.  Becoming best friends, they shared over 59  years of life's adventures.  From their union came a handsome son Kevin.  The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of two beautiful granddaughters.

A strong work ethic was honed by Ardith during her youth and formative years.  Bill and she founded and co-owned Olympic Fiberglass of Rochester.  After many years of dedication she retired in 2011.  She and Bill also shared love for canines being owned by 5 sets of Boxers over the years.  Loyal and true, Tizzy remained at Ardith's side.

As the proud matriarch of the Adams family, Grandma Ardith was proud of her granddaughters Kelsie and Kallie.  She and Bill took great joy with cheering them on for their school concerts, academic competition and being seated courtside watching their games. Grandma looked forward to hosting holiday meals and special family celebrations.  She is best remembered for her steaming hot crispy friend chicken and her delicious chocolate layer cake.

Ardith is lovingly remembered by her husband Bill;  a son, Kevin Adams and wife Kathie of Rochester;  two granddaughters: Kelsie Adams and Kallie Adams; five sisters: Arlene Hounshell  of Rochester, Karen Gibson and husband Dan of Snohomish, WA, twins: Marilyn Townsend of Rochester and Carolyn Wagoner and husband Jim of Rochester,  Gail Hayden and husband Mark of Rochester; two brothers: Kenneth Bathrick and wife Marlene of Rochester, Keith Bathrick and wife Carolyn of Rochester; a sister-in-law, Betty Busch and husband Bob of Syracuse;  numerous nieces and nephews; and Tizzy, a fawn Boxer.

Preceding Ardith in death are her parents, a brother Gordon Bathrick in 2013, sister-in-law Diane Bathrick and a brother-in-law Dee Hounshell.

Pastor Rod Ruberg will officiate services.  Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
