Bridget Renee Wheadon, 51, of Rochester, passed away at 11:21 AM, Thursday, May 23rd, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
On March 16, 1984 Bridget and W. Ronald Wheadon were married in Kewanna. They shared 29 years of life's adventures. Together they blended a family of four children: Golda, Paul, Laurie, and Jim. Later the added blessings of two grandchildren and a great-grandson were added to the family tree.
Bridget cultivated many relationships through her Avon business. The ladies on her route loved and adored her. A stellar saleslady, Bridget ascended to the top in her district and number seven in the nation. A line dancing extraordinaire, Bridget diligently attended the D & K dance classes every Thursday night. Arts, crafts and working with her hands was another forte.' She enjoyed crocheting afghans and other gifts of warmth, weaving baskets and needle point, purses with beads and doilies.
As a young adult, Bridget learned from Grandpa Albert Rans, the art of masonry. She hand selected field stone, blended the custom mortar and proceeded to lay a wall of stone to accent the wall behind the wood stove. She also built porch pillar stone accents to enhance the exterior of their home.
A month long tour of France with Paul and Golda visiting the family's exchange student was a memorable vacation. Each spring Ron put out a huge garden. It was Bridget who harvested the bounty and canned a delicious supply for the family's enjoyment during the winter months.
Relaxing with a good book from her vast personal library, Bridget enjoyed the company of her babies, Bear, Lily, Winnie and Lola seated next to her. Each spring she planted flower gardens around her home to enhance the landscape.
Bridget will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ron, at home; a daughter, Golda C. Wheadon, of Ft. Wayne; two sons: James Ronald Wheadon of Rochester, and Paul E. Wheadon of North Hollywood, CA; grandchildren: Cree Wheadon and Wade Wheadon; great grandson Isaiah Wheadon; father & mother-in-law Wilbur O. and Joretta Wheadon of Rochester; and her K-9 companions Bear, Lilly, Willie and Lola.
Bridget was preceded by a daughter, Laurie A. Wheadon, on April 27, 2013.
A sunset gathering of friends and family reminiscing and remembering the good times will be held from 5-7 PM on Tuesday evening, May 28, 2013 at the Good Family Funeral Home of Rochester.
